Our Youth Group members helped out at the One Community Walk on 25th July 2010 at Radin Mas.
The starting point was Gan Eng Seng Primary School and the ending point was Bukit Merah Community Centre.

The course in conversational Mandarin aims at acquainting participants with the basic vocabulary used in daily conversations. A vocabulary of between 300 and 500 common characters will be taught during the course. The focus is on correct usage of words and grammar in daily conversations.

This course focuses on building the students’ ability to recognise phonics (sounds of alphabets) and on the association of phonics with words and phrases. Students will be taught the basics of phonics and they will be guided to read passages and stories.

The course gives children not only an early start in the learning of colours, shapes and lines but also the opportunity to socialise with their peers. Besides drawing and colouring, they are encouraged to talk about their daily life experiences to help them generate more ideas for their drawings.

The Bukit Merah Community Centre Youth Executive Committee just had a discussion dinner on 6th March 2010.
One specialty of such function was that, instead of the usual indoor meeting room style of discussion, we had an outdoor discussion. Check out some of the photos taken during the event.
